Frequently asked questions
What range of products do you offer?
We offer several types of shampoo and conditioner formulations which cover as many hair types and styles as possible, as well as solutions such as treatments, leave-in conditioners, spray-on detanglers, gloss serums and hair gels. Other solutions can be developed on demand. Recent testing and media has proven that these days there is little difference between most hair care ranges, with marketing being the main variation. Our service is as much a marketing strategy as it is a cost saving one.
What is the minimum order?
A minimum order of 12 for each product is all that is required. Therefore, you don't have to get rid of your current stock, but just slowly replace it over time. And as orders get larger, discounts will apply.
What sort of turn-around times are there ?
The first order takes 2-3 weeks to put together as designs and formulations are refined. Orders after that normally take 1-2 weeks.
Aren't you just adding more ranges to a market that is already flooded?
We see it the opposite way. By salons having their own range, it is inevitable that they will reduce the levels of other stock on their shelves. This will have the effect of "de-ranging" stock from salons
How are salons going to save up to 50%?
Most products that are bought in a salon come from a supplier or distributor that has to add their own margin. Their cost has to cover reps, marketing, staff, travel etc. This means that a salon is lucky if they make 30% markup on their items without pricing themselves out of the market. Our service provides high quality custom-made products direct to the salon, and based on average recommended retail prices, they should make a margin of at least 45%-100%.
This effectively means that the salon can spent the rest of their money (savings) on other areas of need that the salon may have, especially marketing.
What packaging choices are there?
We supply and encourage salons to use smaller packaging (around 250 ml) for a variety of reasons. There is more margin in smaller items. It brings the client back to the salon more frequently. Larger packaging has a "cheaper" stigma attached to it. We also encourage (but not enforce) lighter coloured packaging as traditionally this has been the highest selling type.
The salon has the option to use alternative packaging beyond our choices, although this could cost more and is likely to slow down the turnaround time.
What if the salon wants to create formulations beyond what you offer?
We have an excellent team of manufacturers and suppliers who can help develop alternative and extra hair care solutions. The process is not difficult, but there is a small fee for extra development and it will likely add to the turnaround time. However, once developed, the process for future "runs" is much shorter and likely to be more affordable.
What does the salon do with its current stock?
Whatever they like! As metioned, we can provide runs as small as 24. This means that if a salon wishes to "de-range" their other stock, they can slowly introduce their own range whilst selling off the other brands. This strategy is even wiser when you consider that it is unlikely that a salon will create a complete replacement for their stock on the first run, which means they will need some of the other stock for the time being.
